You could make a very strong and persuasive argument that Katherine Harris is responsible for George Bush being the president of the United States. That argument being made, it would seem to me her IOU list would be infinitely long.

I don't see any front-runner. Nobody has paid any dues. This is a wide-open race. McCain would be a very stable influence - solid, honest, no fear of taking on tough ideas. He could come away from the group, rise to the surface. But does he want to do it?
